  Awake! magazine 1983 (g83 10/22 27)

  "At a picnic of members of our congregation, one brought a fiddle, another a guitar, and so on."
  

  However, in the new elders' manual it seems that there are legal concerns:
  “SHEPHERD THE FLOCK OF GOD” (2019)
  Chap.29 | Legal Matters: 8.Social Events
  

  The congregation does not organize or sponsor social events. Individuals who host social events bear personal responsibility for what occurs at the event. Such individuals should not state or imply that they are acting on behalf of the congregation. They should not use terms such as “congregation picnic” or “congregation gathering.”

  10 years ago, in 2009, a Jehovah’s Witness stood before the world's press and announced "This is it!". Sadly, he passed away in death a matter of weeks later. Michael Jackson's "This is it!" event never happened. I do not mean to exploit the death of any human, but isn't there an ironic similarity? What I mean is that Tony's event will also never happen.

  At 1.4% growth the last 2 years, it's safe to say, jw.org and cart witnessing is an abject failure!

  so basically the org spent millions of dollars on their website and broadcasting so the only growth they are still getting comes from born ins and illiterate and superstitious folks from africa.

  The figures are doctored. I need to do more research, but it's a fact that WT report UK (Britain) population DROPPED! Yet the UN figures, and the UK government official figures show that the UK population has need INCREASING for decades. The WT 2018 report UK population 2 million LESS than reality. This skews the "publisher ratio" in favour of WT. I am doing more research going back 20 years using the UN figures, and the UK government figures. I will then compare other countries. Smells like someone is cooking the books!

  “We are not prophets”
  Many terms in the English language has interchangeable equivalents and are therefore ripe for semantic juggling tricks! Consider this technique:

  • Outright denial of the term.
  • Cite Bible as authority, shifting the blame and responsibility; implying reader lacks faith in the Bible and not us.
  • Invoke God, and make indistinguishable connection with our organization, implying equal authority.
  • Outright admission of the term; obfuscation by using both terms interchangeably.

  For example: “We do not make predictions” (We simply forecast)
  We do not claim to predict the future. Whilst we keep watch on world events as these fulfil Bible predictions, we will only forecast what such clear Bible prophecies predict. God’s predictions will never fail, and we can have the utmost confidence of the forecasts made by his Organization. Never would we want to reject God’s timely predictions, as forecasted through His Organization.

  And as can be seen in the Oxford dictionary, the above paragraph is duplicitous deception.

  PREDCITION: A thing predicted; a forecast (https://en.oxforddictionaries.com/definition/prediction)

  FORECAST: A calculation or estimate of future events (https://en.oxforddictionaries.com/definition/forecast)
  

  The same above technique can be (and sadly frequently is) used with the term "prophet" and terms such as "warnings", "light", "God's organization" and so on.

  I sent a link to this story to a PIMI Jdub. Their INSTANT response (literally a few seconds) was "well, some Bros must not have followed direction". Er, what?! The whole reason for the police raid is that the branch WAS following the direction - the direction to NOT comply with "the superior authorities" who Christian are supposed to comply with (Ro.13). This told me 2 things. (1) The instant response and irrelevant contradictory reply was a "knee jerk" reaction, a programmed response to "defend Jehovah's Borganization", and (2) like a hallucinogenic volunteer in a hypnotic trance at the command of a stage illusionist, JDubs will BELIEVE that the onion in their mouth is an apple because the illusionist hypnotist said so. I honestly fear for my friend's who are still under Watchtower's command. So sad...
